Vision: To lead children into a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ.
We have a wonderful children’s program here at Mercy Church. Our classes are done in such a way that your child will have fun while learning biblical principles taught by qualified volunteers to help them have a great life and grow up to be a well-adjusted adult in the future.
Our Kid’s Life Classes
- 3 Months – 36 Months (up to 3 years)
- 3 Years to 5 Years Old
- K – 5th Grade
Our K-5th Grade class begins with 3 fun and modern kids worship songs, followed by a memory verse focus point, and then a bible lesson with question and answer time. We also typically have the kids perform a fun and educational activity or two that accompanies the lesson material. Also if you are a parent, please try to remind your kids to bring their Bibles to class each Sunday. We give out a special prize from our prize box every week when a child remembers to bring their Bible with them. If your child doesn’t already own a bible, we strongly encourage parents to purchase an age appropriate Bible for your child or children (such as the NIV, NIRV, ICB or the NLT). If you have questions about which Bible would work best for you, please don’t hesitate to email our Kid’s Life Directors, or contact your local Christian book store such as LifeWay, or Mardels.
Sunday Morning Check-In Process
Our check in/check out process for Kid’s Life guarantees the safety of these little ones. Parents, when you drop off your child, you’ll sign in and be given a number card. This card serves two purposes:
- If your child has held our volunteers hostage (hee…hee…), if there is something specific we need, or in case a child is sick or injured, we will display your number on the big screen in the auditorium to have you come and attend to your children…and…
- The number also gives permission for someone to check out your child when the service is over. Without this number, your child will not be released to an adult.
Special Needs Children
One of the things we take great pride in here at Mercy Church is being able to teach and train up our children to love God, and to learn how to develop healthy relationships with one another. We also understand and have a great deal of compassion for parents who have children with special needs. While there are some special needs that we can accommodate, unfortunately, at this time we don’t have the full-time staff or professional, certified workers who are trained to work specifically with kids who have many of those needs. While we would love for you and your children to come to Mercy Church, if you would like specific training or care for your child, we recommend that you speak with our Ministry Coordinator (Jana Gibson) about connecting with another church who has the staff and resources that can support your child’s specific needs. In the future, we hope to be able to accommodate parents who have children who fit into this category.
Our primary concern is that the children in the class are able to learn, and have fun, all while learning Biblical truths that will impact their lives forever.
Interested in Volunteering?
Mercy Church Kid’s Life would love to invite you to join our team of volunteers and Kid’s Life leaders! If you are passionate about kids and Jesus, please contact us through our facebook page, or give our Kid’s Life Directors (Joe and Lauren) an email to let us know you’re interested in helping out. We’re looking for fun, energetic, and kid loving people to be a part of this exciting time as we take Kid’s Life to a whole new level.
Also, if you’re a regular member of Mercy Church, and if you have children that attend our Kid’s Life classes, we ask that you take one weekend out of every six (6) weeks to help with Kid’s Life, even if it’s simply helping with the registration tables. You have no idea how much that helps us meet our goals to make Kid’s Life the best ministry it can be…enabling our key volunteers to be able to serve in critical areas of need while you assist us every so often.
Mercy Church is growing fast, and with Church growth there is a ton of growth in Kid’s Ministries as well. We hope you’ll team up with us!
